After several years of working at a traditional commercial brokerage, we realized that multifamily and single family investments are unique assets that deserve their own shop. Owners and investors were not receiving the level of service they needed, like limited access to listings and analysis. 

We decided to create Address Income when we noticed a massive gap in the real estate investment space. "Invest where people live'" is a popular, vast, and growing investment strategy that encompasses both single family and multifamily properties. However, it can be difficult to find a real estate brokerage that specializes solely in this approach. When looking to invest in single family or multifamily investors face constraints and confusion with the traditional shops of "commercial" and "residential" real estate.

A niche is born, commercial vs residential brokerage

In a commercial brokerage, multifamily properties often seem like an afterthought, rather than the primary focus. The industry is centered around "where people work," with a focus on office, industrial, and retail asset classes.

On the residential side, a large community of single family rental investors are left without dedicated investment services, as residential brokerages are primarily focused on helping people find a place to live, rather than invest where people live. Small multifamily properties are often overlooked, falling between the two established brokerage models.
